The 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course

The Pre-Licensing Course includes approximately 5 hours of instruction. New drivers must complete the course before taking a DMV road test and applying for a license.

You will be issued an MV-278 Pre-Licensing Course Completion Certificate when you successfully complete either the Classroom Pre-Licensing Course or by Distance Learning/Virtual Classroom

Your Pre-licensing Course Certificate is valid for one year from the date it is issued. 

What is the 5 Hour Pre-Licensing Course

It is a DMV-approved, standardized course that provides the knowledge you will need as a new driver. The course covers many important topics, including:

  • driving within the highway transportation system

  • driver habits and skills

  • feelings, attitudes, and risk-taking

  • alcohol, other drugs, and driving

We are presenting our 5 Hour Class via ZOOM.

1. Students are required to come to our office to register and pay for the class. You will then be given instructions for signing up with Zoom as well as the link for our class.

2. Before the class begins, please make a Zoom account and enter the meeting at least 15 minutes prior to the start of class.

3. Upon completion of the class, please allow us 48 hours to complete your paperwork.

4. Once the paperwork is complete, come to our office and sign your certificate of completion.
